SCOUTING FOR BOYS BY GIRLS

Yesterday in London I was running around representing Boys by Girls hunting for beautiful boys. It was a very long day but I managed to find around 5 potential male models! It's a competition; boys against girls.

The girls team only found 1 guy and we found 9, so I'm pretty confident one of our boys will be the one getting signed.

Here is a sneak preview of who I found...

BRICK LANE STREET STYLE

I was on Brick Lane in London the other day and noticed for the first time (my bad) how interesting the street style was. I got my camera out and took some cool pictures. The sun really does bring out some great styles.

ALEXANDER MCQUEEN SS13 SHIRTS

I'm particularly in love with the McQ shirts from the spring/summer 13 collection. The prints, colours and illustrations combined to create these fantastic pieces are beyond alluring. I want all of them! Even better, there is an Alexander McQueen party taking place tonight on Dover Street London between 5-8pm. There will be music and free cocktails throughout the evening... Plus 30% discount instore...

An amazing opportunity to get some McQ designs for cheaper than initially priced. I can imagine there is going to be quite a storm in London tonight.

LUCIE HALLEY BOY COLLECTION

I recently came across a London based designer called Lucie Halley and was instantly drawn to her cool collections. Only recently taking her first step into the world of fashion design, she currently has two collections available.

The first "Becalmed Element" collection consists of womenswear futuristic pieces and the second "BOY" collection is more street style inspired with a lot of tie dye used, it's based around a female wearing her boyfriends clothes.

She's a really cool designer and her menswear designs are amazing - which is obviously my main point of focus. I'm hoping to see much more of Lucie in the not too distant future.

And here is a video of her catwalk collection.

PAUL SMITH AW13 PRESS DAY

Today I attended the Paul Smith AW13 press day in London. I instantly fell in love with the menswear collection, each design was a statement piece - including the invigorating range of accessories.

As this year has shown, menswear is experiencing a lot more recognition and the boundaries have been pushed further than anyone could have ever imagined. I can safely say that Paul Smith has effortlessly ticked each box for menswear AW13.

Classic tailoring, clean cuts and traditional elements of men's style all bring this collection to life. The attention to detail was something that stood out the most to me as well as the playful use of colour. Basically, I want every piece of it in my wardrobe.

NEXT LEVEL PLATFORMS.

Statement footwear is huge this season, something that was once considered simple and irrelevant for men's style. Whatever you're wearing, footwear is the key to bringing everything else to life.

Something in particular that caught my attention is the new steel cap shoes that Underground have just released into their Berwick Street, London store. Let's face it, we're all kind of over the whole platform phase - it was cool but it's hardly a fashion statement now.

However I feel as though these beauties are the next level of "platformed footwear" - say goodbye to creepers, these bad boys are in town! (Did anyone particularly LOVE creepers anyway?)

London Fashion Week: Day 4.

Today was the penultimate day of London Fashion Week. It was also the day of the Christopher Kane show - which I was beyond unhappy to have missed. I attended the Pringle of Scotland presentation and to my surprise it was absolutely mesmerizing. The collection was clean cut, simple and the experimentation with textures and feathers really emphasised the designs.

I managed to go backstage at the Osman show, where I witnessed the moody looking models having their hair and make up done. Then I was able to see the run through of the show and shortly after I came across Amanda Ware, winner of Australia's Next Top Model 2010 competition. I'm a huge fan of the show and Amanda, so it was overwhelming to have met her.

I'm sad the week is coming to end, it's been great working with 1883 Magazine and being able to meet so many interesting people. Here is my post on the 1883 website blog: http://www.1883magazineblog.com/lfwaw13-day-3-pringle-of-scotland/

London Fashion Week: Day 2.

Day 2 of LFW is complete. Christopher Raeburn, Dans La Vie and Jasper Conran all being the highlight shows of the day for me.

Not forgetting to mention a surprise appearance from Cara Delevingne in her pre-show attire - I quote from her, "I better go now because I look like shit," after a fan had to draw herself away due to hysterically breaking down in floods of tears. Cara was very flattered though, she gave the star-struck young girl a big hug - it was a touching moment.

I also witnessed the Scandinavian Movement Exhibition which was amazing, while simultaneously enjoying a champagne breakfast - I've never experienced being "tipsy" at 11am before. During the exhibition I spoke to a lot of designers and some of the stories behind the collections were magical. Palmer//Harding, Rodebjer and Phannatiq were just some of the designers showcasing their collections, these three in particular actually being my favourite.

I managed to speak briefly to Mark-Francis Vandelli from reality TV show Made in Chelsea. His only words were, "I'm wearing Valentino!"

Pixie Lott, Pixie and Peaches Geldoff, Jourdan Dunn and Mollie King were amongst others to also make an appearance today. Now, time for sleep, see you soon LFW day 3!
